Hi! I'm Jacklyn (or Mrs. Waters), and next year would be my 15th year in the classroom teaching Middle School math. My husband, two small kids, dog, and I recently moved to Telluride from Denver to be closer to family. Being from the mountains, I’m grateful to be back and eager to share my love of the outdoors, community, and culture with my kids. My husband and I are looking forward to watching our kids grow up here and experience all that Telluride and the surrounding areas have to offer! Our family already enjoys skiing, hiking, time at the lake, reading, telling jokes, art, french toast (the kids), and oat milk lattes (us parents)! We are looking forward to what new activities and adventures we can discover here!

Growing up, two things were always very clear to me: I loved being in the mountains and learning new things. My love for learning inspired all my traveling and my love of the outdoors ignited my passion for ice climbing. These two things led me to Alaska where while guiding I had an ah-hah moment- I love teaching! I need to travel back down and go to school for teaching! Since then, the past 20 years have been in pursuit of that calling.

Now for some great news! When we moved, I packed up that passion for teaching and brought it with me to Telluride! It brightens my day to share my passion for learning and math with students. Seeing students light up when they experience success is the best part of my job, and I look forward to helping your student achieve this success through my love of teaching.
